A person looks at every release before it leaves for stores. It's usually done within an hour, and it's a check on the paperwork, not on your music.
Here is the whole list of what we look at:
- Audio integrity: the file opens, plays end to end, and isn't corrupt, silent or truncated
- Artwork compliance: square, 3000 × 3000 or larger, RGB, no promotional text
- Metadata consistency: names, titles and credits agree with each other and with the recording
- DSP guideline alignment: the release meets the rules the stores themselves set
What we don't check
We have no opinion on your genre, your production budget, or how the record sounds. Lo-fi is not a fault. Distortion, noise, silence and tape hiss are artistic choices, and we treat them as choices. A bedroom recording gets the same pass as a studio album.
Why we bother at all
Because a metadata mismatch caught here costs you ten minutes, while the same mismatch caught by a store after release can cost you a takedown and your release date.
If something needs changing, we tell you exactly what. Fixing and resubmitting is free, unlimited, and leaves no mark on your account.
