How to Claim Your Apple Music for Artists Profile
Distribution & Stores

Apple Music for Artists is Apple's dashboard for artists. Once you've claimed your page, you can see how listeners respond to your songs and where you're played most, add lyrics, and customize your Apple Music artist page.

You get an artist page on Apple Music by releasing music there through a distributor. Claiming it is a separate step, and it's one you do yourself, with Apple.

Before you start

  • Your music has been live on Apple Music for at least five business days. Apple won't accept a claim before that.
  • You're the primary artist on at least one album. Featured artists can't claim a page from a song they're featured on.
  • You're the artist or the artist's manager. Label reps can't claim a page. They ask the artist to add them once the page is claimed.
  • You have an Apple Account, or you create one when you sign up.
  1. Open Apple Music and find your artist page, or one of your albums.
  2. Click or tap the More button.
  3. Choose Share, then Copy Link.

Apple asks for this link in the claim form.

Step 2: Request access

You can claim on the web or in the Apple Music for Artists app for iPhone. The steps are the same.

  1. Go to artists.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account, or download the Apple Music for Artists app.
  2. Choose Request Artist Access.
  3. Paste your link into the Find an Artist field. You can also search by your artist name or an album title.
  4. Select one of your albums, so you're sure it's the right page and not another artist with the same name.
  5. Choose your role: Artist, Manager or Label Rep.
  6. Fill in the application.

Step 3: Help Apple verify you

Apple has to confirm you are who you say you are. The more it can see, the faster the review:

  • Name your distributor. If your music comes through MOOSYC, say so.
  • Sign in to your social media accounts when the form offers it.
  • Add your website and any other places you publish your music.

Step 4: Wait for approval

While Apple reviews your claim, its status shows as Pending in Apple Music for Artists, and Apple sends updates by email.

Once you're approved, it's up to you to review anyone else who asks for access to your page, like your manager, your label or the people you work with.

Joining as a label rep? Your request needs an artist or artist manager Admin on the page to act on it, and it expires if nobody does within 30 days.

Keep every release on the same page

To keep all your releases on one page:

  • Spell your artist name identically on every release. Same capitalization, same spacing. See Metadata Guidelines.
  • Pick the same Apple Music profile in MOOSYC. When you release again, MOOSYC asks which Apple Music artist profile is yours. Choose the existing one rather than starting a new artist.
  • Use your artist page link, not a listener account. An Apple Music artist page is different from the personal account you listen with.

If a release still lands on the wrong page, tell us and we'll take it up with Apple. See How We Protect Your Catalog.

What to do once you're in

  • Add lyrics to your songs.
  • Customize your artist page.
  • Check where you're being played. Apple Music for Artists shows where your listeners are. MOOSYC's own analytics show your Apple Music performance per release, next to your other platforms. See Apple Music Analytics Explained.
