There is no fixed per-stream rate. Anyone quoting you one is rounding off something much messier.
Most platforms work from a pool. They take the month’s subscription and advertising revenue, keep their share, and divide the rest among rights holders according to how much of the total listening each one accounted for.
So your earnings move with:
- How many streams you got
- How much everyone else got in the same month
- Where your listeners were, since rates vary a lot by country
- Whether they were paying subscribers or on the free, ad-supported tier
- How much money the platform brought in that month
A paid stream in one country can be worth several times an ad-supported stream in another. The same track can earn different amounts in two consecutive months without anything about the track changing.
